Avs fans have got to like all the moves before the trade deadline. From the Colorado website:
"Salo has appeared in 44 games this season for Edmonton with a record of 17-18-6 with a 2.58 goals-against average and three shutouts. The 6-foot, 182-pound native of Surahammar, Sweden is a veteran of 521 NHL games, amassing a regular season career record of 209-222-72 with a goals-against average of 2.56. The two-time NHL All-Star has appeared in 21 career NHL playoff games with a 2.59 goals-against average."

"The Colorado Avalanche has acquired forward Chris Gratton, defenseman Ossi Vaananen, and a second round selection in the 2004 Entry Draft in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes."

I think this will add some needed depth and maybe stabilize some of the lines going into the playoffs.
