Thats always been my problem with Roy. Last night it was not a problem for me, but when I watch the Avs wanting them to win. He has this horrible habit of leaving the crease... by a long way.

Well, y'know, I've seen other goalies do that. It just kinda happens. But I see no need for him to wander out to center ice whenever the spirit moves him. Brian's right, he does it too often. Most of the time it works out okay, but when it doesn't...it REALLY doesn't.
During some Avs game after his stick-throwing incident the commentators were discussing goalies and said something to the effect of..."They're different. Some of them are difficult like Roy and Belfour, and some of them are just plain goofy." I thought that was pretty funny, for various reasons.  Founder: Hockaholics Anonymous

Goalies are ALL pretty goofy.
 But what can you do. Anyone who gets hit with a 100 mile an hour slap shot and does it for a living, has to be insane.B |

My sister said last night that it was "time to get the leash out" to tie Patrick to the net. I didn't mind too much, I'm rooting for the Wings.

Since he likes handling the puck so much, perhaps Roy would like to take a couple of shifts on a line with Forsberg and Tanguay?
By my account he has two assists this series: one on McCarty's third goal Saturday, and one on Maltby's goal Monday. Let's see if he can stay in the net tonight and be the wall that's won four rings. |
