Ok, I am late chiming in since I have been gone all summer. 1) In regards to the SPC PE class. ALL that SPC can legally "pay" is generated by the lab fee that the students pay to take the class. That's it. Does the class pay for itself? No. What it does do is generate publicity and interest. My wife and I might be able to help get a new TTU Hockey jersey. We are planning to travel to Corpus Christi March 17th to watch the Bucks. If we are able to figure out something money wise (not attempting to make a profit but how to pay for the jersey), we would be more than happy to bring it with us.

All I am seeing is people telling Paul, Mike and Tim what to do but none of you that are writing seem to be doing the one thing that has been asked of us as Texas Tech Hockey fans to do and that is send them money to keep hockey alive in Lubbock. I agree...merchandise should be more available. Placing something on the website would really be a good idea...but I think it just shows how limited they are in resources (not just money but volunteers). Hopefully the funding issues will get resolved in the short term and then they can start addressing things like websites, merchandising etc. As it stands, the website is a huge improvement from a few years back.

You guys need to get merchandise if for no other reason than to let everyone know that you exist. I live in Corpus and go to the CHL games. I have tried for 3 years to buy a new Tech hockey jersey and cannot even get anyone to e-mail me back. I did finally get a very, very, game worn jersey but I want a new jersey. I contacted the spirit shops in an attempt to purchase Tech hockey merchandise and was told "Huh???". Someone needs to get with the spirit shops and get them to carry...

I should have been a bit more clear and stated that the "candy" was just a analogy. I know that Paul, Mike and you Tim all bust you butts to put $ in the bank for the team. You guys have real jobs and give up way to much of your free time. My point is that the players should be out there knocking on doors as well. Thanks for the kind words about my upcoming second funeral. I wanted to get invataions that said "love is a once in a lifetime thing" with once scratched out and twice handwritten in. She said no. Go figure. Anyway, I have scored way above me and once I walked into my living room and saw the flat screen tv for valentines day I knew she was the one (how sweet I know). If this one doesn't work out (and I doubt it won't) I will never get married again....

Everyone is an expert. I have never tried to manage a hockey team but I was heavily involved with my daughter's sport organization from coaching and pretty much volunteering for everything. Lining the fields, uniform issue's (our girls are at the age where they outgrew the uniforms we had bought less than six months earlier), insurance, coaching certifications, team dues to the county, etc.-it all adds up and we continually have money issues year in and year out. Networking is good for college kids right? That is what the greeks on campus sell to the parents during orientation anyway. Thanks for your comments. Allow me to peek behind the curtain when it comes to Tech Hockey for a moment. As you pointed out, we all have full time jobs, hell Mike has a two of them and I have a business on top of the 9-5 job. Paul is weeks (hell days) away from being a new dad and I am months away from having my will to live stripped away from me from my upcoming wedding. Busy doesn't begin to cover it.

To be honest, I don't know what to say. I don't have the money to donate. And I don't know anyone who does. I'd hate to lose hockey completely in Lubbock. Losing the Kings was painful enough.
